(WILMINGTON, Ohio) - Headlined by a nine-ace performance from Mia Spence in the second match, the Wilmington Quakers swept both matches of their doubleheader Friday at the Quaker Classic.

Powered by 11 kills from Emelia Mohler and 19 digs from Logan McQuillin, the Quakers defeated Pitt-Greensburg in straight sets Friday afternoon at Fred Raizk Arena in Hermann Court.
After a tightly contested beginning to the first set, Wilmington, leading 9-7, pulled away with a 10-2 scoring surge. Mohler and Paige Shouse helped sustain the offense during the run, posting two kills apiece. Pitt-Greensburg narrowed the deficit to six before Wilmington iced the opening frame 25-14 by scoring the final five points.
The Bobcats responded well in the second set, building a 17-8 advantage. Despite the deficit, the Green and White roared back into the frame. Aubrey Clark served eight consecutive times for the Quakers, with Wilmington scoring on each of the first seven rallies, including four points on kills by Shouse and Mackenzie Simpson. After Wilmington tied the set at 19-19, Pitt-Greensburg countered by scoring five of the next nine points to reach set point. Trailing 24-23, the Quakers scored three straight points, clinching the comeback victory in the second set with a service ace from Emma Specht.
Wilmington once again trailed midway through the third set before surging ahead for good. The Quakers trailed 10-9 before generating a 12-3 scoring run that featured three kills from Simpson and two apiece from Magee Fain and Mohler. Wilmington held off the Bobcats the rest of the way to win the third set 25-15 and improve to 2-0.

The Wilmington Quakers downed the Sweet Briar Vixens 3-0 on Friday night at Fred Raizk Arena in Hermann Court to earn their third straight victory.
Despite falling behind by two to start the match, Wilmington, anchored by four service aces from Mia Spence, sustained a 19-1 run to build an insurmountable lead. The Green and White, behind one kill apiece from Mackenzie Simpson, Brinlee Preston, Magee Fain and Paige Shouse, scored five of the final six points in the opening frame en route to a 25-5 win.
In the second set, the Vixens stormed to a 7-2 advantage before the Quakers countered by scoring six of the next seven points to tie the set. Shouse then gave the Quakers their first lead with a service ace to make it 9-8.
Although Sweet Briar fought back to pull ahead 10-9, the Quakers, spurred on by two service aces from Emma Specht and one from Logan McQuillin, scored 10 of the next 11 points to take the lead for good. Wilmington went on to win the set 25-12, scoring the final five points.
After the first two sets were marked by lengthy scoring runs, neither team sustained a run greater than three consecutive points until the latter half of the third. With Wilmington ahead 16-12, the Quakers used a pair of late scoring runs to pull away. Highlighted by three kills from Fain, two from Shouse and one from Emelia Mohler, Wilmington earned a 25-15 victory to complete the sweep.
