(ANDERSON, Ind.) – The Wilmington College women's tennis team began their first season since 2012-13 this afternoon at Anderson University (Ind.), losing to the Ravens 7-0.
"We aren't focused on the result today," said Quakers Head Coach
Jayson Wiseman. "Our job was to go out and give it our best effort and represent the Quakers tennis program, alumni, and supporters as we return to the courts after so many years away and we were all very proud to be a part of the return of Wilmington College tennis! We got a good measure of where we are and the things we need to work on going forward and now we go to work preparing for an even better showing next time."
Freshman
Bailey Wheeler had the best showing for Wilmington in singles play, winning three games at No. 3 singles against Abby Cunningham. Also winning a game at No. 5 singles against Makynna Oconitrillo was sophomore
Samantha Martin.
In doubles action, sophomore
Kaci Daily and junior
Ella Kirby won one game at No. 2 doubles against the team of Kara Buehnerkemper and Gracie Werden.
