(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College football team played their first home game of the season Saturday night inside Williams Stadium in front of a large crowd on Homecoming weekend.
The Quakers fell to the visiting Otterbein University Cardinals, 35-14. This drops Wilmington to 1-2 overall this season and 0-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC).
Wilmington got on the board first after a
Jeremy Hamm blocked punt resulted in a
Miller Fall recovery and 10-yard scramble into the endzone for a touchdown and a 7-0 Quakers lead. Otterbein quickly answered with a touchdown and a 7-7 tie.
The following drive for Wilmington ended in a touchdown, aided by a 29-yard pass play to freshman
Logan Ridenbaugh to get into Cardinals territory.
Kaiden Molnar eventually ran in from eight yards out for a 14-7 advantage.
The Quakers didn't score again for the remainder of the game despite a few good looks that either resulted in interceptions or turnover on downs in their 35-14 loss.
Notables
- Freshman Miller Fall had a great game defensively for the Quakers. He made 11 total tackles with three tackles for loss and added one sack.
- Sophomore Lincoln Clark had one catch for 70 yards.
- Cale Leitch rushed nine times for 59 yards.
