(FACTORYVILLE, Pennsylvania) – The Wilmington Quakers defeated both the Elmira Soaring Eagles and Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins in straight sets at Gambal Athletic Center on Saturday morning, completing a perfect 3-0 weekend at the Keystone College Classic.
Match 1
The Quakers outscored Elmira 75-30 across their three-set sweep of the Soaring Eagles.
After building a 13-8 advantage in the opening set, Wilmington, led by three kills from Paige Shouse and three service aces from Aubrey Clark, put together an 11-0 scoring run to take a commanding lead. Wilmington later secured a 25-9 victory in the opening frame on a kill from Mackenzie Simpson.
The Green and White, spurred on by kills from Clark, Shouse and Simpson, carried their momentum into the second set, generating an 8-2 lead. Wilmington, highlighted by a 6-0 run late in the frame, extended its advantage to as many as 15 points en route to a 25-10 victory in set two.
Wilmington, sparked by five service aces from Clark, started fast again in the third set, opening the final frame with a 17-5 scoring run. The Soaring Eagles narrowed the deficit to 10 points before Wilmington answered with a 5-1 run and eventually clinched a 25-11 victory to complete the sweep.

Match 2
Wilmington outlasted Mount Saint Vincent in two tightly contested sets before pulling away for a decisive victory in the third to earn its second sweep of the day and third consecutive road victory.
Trailing 7-6 in the opening frame, Wilmington, led by two kills from Magee Fain and a kill from Emelia Mohler, used a 7-0 scoring run to take a 13-7 advantage. The Quakers led by as many as seven points before staving off the Dolphins' comeback attempt en route to a 25-20 victory.
Despite never trailing in the second set, Wilmington had to hold off Mount Saint Vincent in a tightly contested frame. The Green and White took advantage of four Dolphins attack errors to build a 5-0 advantage. That early cushion proved crucial as Mount Saint Vincent outscored Wilmington 22-20 the rest of the way. With the Quakers ahead 24-22, Emma Specht set Mackenzie Simpson for a kill to clinch a 25-22 victory in set two.
Despite falling into an early 5-1 hole in the final frame, the Quakers responded with an 8-1 run, highlighted by two service aces from Jana Metz, to take the lead for good. Mount Saint Vincent narrowed the advantage to one point twice before Wilmington pulled away. The Quakers scored the final three points to cement a 25-16 victory and complete the sweep.
