(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington Quakers downed the Anderson Ravens 3-0 in their season-opening match at Williams Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
The Quakers and Ravens played a scoreless first half. Despite the deadlock, Wilmington generated more offensive pressure than Anderson, tallying seven shots to the Ravens' four while generating three corner kicks to Anderson's one.
The Green and White upped the ante in the second half, controlling possession and pulling away from the Ravens. In the 51st minute, Wilmington drew a foul in the box to set up a penalty kick. Aidan Barnishin converted the opportunity for the Quakers' first goal of the 2026 season.
Wilmington continued to apply pressure, generating nine shots and six corner kicks in the second half. In the 61st minute, Caleb Redding doubled the lead, ricocheting a shot off the post and into the net on an assist from Barnishin.
Later in the half, Xander Terrell cemented the Quakers' commanding lead by rocketing a shot from just outside the box on a pass from Akol Malow, putting Wilmington ahead 3-0.
The Quakers held onto their lead the rest of the way to secure a season-opening victory for the second time in three years.
