(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College athletics department announced the hiring of Sedric Granger as its new Assistant Director of Sports Communication. Granger's main tasks will be handling the Quakers media content, social media channels and broadcast production.
Granger joins the Quakers after spending the summer of 2026 as a Group Sales and Events Assistant at Kings Island, where he coordinated client events, managed event logistics and collaborated with multiple departments to deliver large-scale group experiences. Previously, he spent two years as a Sports Information Coordinator at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES).

"Sedric has done a little bit of everything during his career and will be a great asset to the athletics department. I'm excited to see what we can do to help bring Quakers athletics to life across our digital and broadcast platforms!"
Before returning to Ohio, Granger served as the primary athletic communications contact for UMES baseball and women's volleyball programs while overseeing media relations, website management, statistical reporting, game notes, feature stories, photography, social media content and game operations. He also broadcasted and produced UMES baseball and softball game streams, helped coordinate the student-produced Hawk Talk television show and organized special event promotions. Before assuming the Sports Information Coordinator role, Granger served as an Athletics Assistant for UMES during the 2024 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Basketball Tournament and the 2024 UMES baseball season.
During the summer of 2025, Granger worked as a Broadcast and Media Relations intern for the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, assisting with media relations, producing written and digital content, conducting player and coach interviews and contributing to the club's broadcast coverage.
In addition to his athletic communications experience, Granger has established himself as a national broadcaster. Since being selected to Major League Baseball's inaugural MLB Voices Program in 2024, he has worked as a freelance play-by-play broadcaster for MLB.com and MLB Network. His assignments have included nationally streamed events such as the Andre Dawson Classic, Hank Aaron Invitational, Arizona Fall League, RBI World Series and other MLB youth development tournaments.
A 2024 graduate of Ohio University, Granger developed an extensive background in collegiate broadcasting and communications. He called more than 40 ESPN+ broadcasts across multiple sports while serving as Director of Student Broadcasting for Ohio Athletics. In that role, he mentored student broadcasters, coordinated broadcast assignments and assisted with ESPN+ and YouTube productions. He also served as an On-Field Host for Ohio football and men's and women's basketball while contributing in production roles that included producing, camera operation and audio.
Granger also gained valuable experience in collegiate summer baseball. During the 2023 season, he served as Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the Battle Creek Battle Jacks of the Northwoods League, where he acted as the organization's primary media contact while producing game notes, feature stories and broadcasts for every home game and playoff contest. The previous summer, he worked for the Southern Ohio Copperheads, producing broadcasts, writing news releases and game recaps, recording podcasts and creating scouting videos for Major League Baseball organizations. Following the season, he was selected as the official writer for the 2022 Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League All-Star Game.
Outside of collegiate athletics, Granger served as the Voice of Athens High School on 970 WATH Radio while co-hosting a local sports talk show and working as a sports reporter for WOUB Public Media's Gridiron Glory and Hardwood Heroes.
Granger earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism News and Information from Ohio University with a Sports Management Minor and a Podcasting Certificate. He was named the 2024 Ohio University Outstanding News and Information Senior.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Granger resides in Hamilton with his fiancé, Emer, and their dog, Luna.
