Sedric Granger began his tenure at Wilmington College as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications in August 2026.
Granger comes to Wilmington after spending the summer of 2026 as a Group Sales and Events Assistant with Kings Island amusement park, where he coordinated client events, managed event logistics, collaborated with multiple departments, and assisted in delivering large-scale group experiences.
Before returning to Ohio, Granger spent two years as a Sports Information Coordinator at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES). He served as the primary athletic communications contact for the baseball and women's volleyball programs while overseeing media relations, website management, statistical reporting, game notes, feature stories, social media content, photography, and game operations. He also broadcasted and produced UMES baseball and softball game streams, helped coordinate the “Hawk Talk” student-led TV show, and organized special event promotions. Prior to accepting the Sports Information Coordinator role, Granger served as an Athletics Assistant for UMES during the 2024 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Basketball Tournament and 2024 UMES baseball season, assisting with championship event operations, recap writing, and ticket distribution.
During the summer of 2025, Granger worked as a Broadcast and Media Relations Intern for the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. While in Frisco, he assisted with media relations, produced written and digital content, conducted player and coach interviews, and contributed to the club's broadcast coverage.
Since being selected to Major League Baseball's inaugural MLB Voices Program in February of 2024, Granger has also worked as a freelance play-by-play broadcaster for MLB.com and MLB Network. He has called nationally streamed baseball events, including the Andre Dawson Classic, Hank Aaron Invitational, Arizona Fall League, RBI World Series, and other MLB youth development events while collaborating with producers, analysts, and on-air talent on national broadcasts.
Before graduating from Ohio University in 2024, Granger built an extensive background in broadcasting and athletic communications. He called more than 40 ESPN+ broadcasts across multiple sports while serving as Director of Student Broadcasting for Ohio Athletics, where he mentored student broadcasters, coordinated broadcast assignments, and assisted with ESPN+ and YouTube productions. He also served as a game day host for Ohio Football and Basketball and worked in numerous production roles, including producing, camera operation, and audio.
Granger gained additional collegiate baseball experience during the summers of 2022 and 2023. In 2023, he served as the Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the Battle Creek Battle Jacks of the Northwoods League, where he was the primary media contact, produced game notes and feature stories, managed media requests, and broadcast every home game and playoff contest. The previous summer, he worked with the Southern Ohio Copperheads, producing broadcasts, writing news releases and game recaps, recording podcasts, and creating scouting videos for Major League Baseball organizations. Following the 2022 season, he was selected as the official writer for the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League All-Star Game.
In addition to his collegiate athletics experience, Granger worked as the “Voice of Athens High School Athletics” on 970 WATH Radio where he called games at Joe Burrow Stadium while co-hosting a local sports talk show and serving as a sports reporter for WOUB Public Media's Gridiron Glory and Hardwood Heroes.
Granger graduated from Ohio University in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism News & Information, a Minor in Sports Management, and a Podcasting Certificate. As a student, he was named Ohio University's Outstanding News and Information Senior and was recognized for his leadership within the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism and Ohio Athletics.
Granger is an active member of CSC (College Sports Communicators) and the Sportscaster Talent Agency of America (STAA).
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Granger now resides in Hamilton, Ohio, with his fiancé, Emer, and their dog, Luna. Outside of work, he is an avid roller coaster enthusiast who enjoys visiting amusement parks across the country—especially Kings Island and Cedar Point.
