(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – The Wilmington College baseball team dropped a pair of games Wednesday afternoon at Capital University, 9-5 and 15-1.
Game 1 – Capital Defeats Wilmington, 9-5
The Quakers jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the top of the fourth inning. They got their scoring started in the second with a two-out
Avery Battle single up the middle for a 1-0 lead. They scored two runs in the top of the fourth on a Battle RBI walk and a fielder's choice.
A six-run bottom of the fourth from Capital doomed the Quakers. Wilmington scored a run in the fifth and seventh innings but couldn't complete a comeback.

The Quakers had runners in scoring position in the first and second innings but didn't break through for their run until the fourth frame.
Max Gildea hit a single that was followed by a
Kyle Jennings double into left center field.
