(WILMINGTON, Ohio) - The Quakers drop both contests to the Purple Raiders on Friday afternoon.
Game 1 – 15-4 Loss (7 Inn.)
The visiting Purple Raiders jumped ahead for nine runs against Bobby Fleming in the first two innings. Dominic Depa led off with a single in the bottom of the 2nd, and a single by Kyle Jennings drove in Depa. James Crowe led off the bottom of the 3rd with a walk and was brought home on a sacrifice fly by J.C. Calhoun.
Mount Union tacked on six more runs across the fifth and seventh innings. Depa reached first on an error in the bottom of the 7th, and with two outs Max Gildea crushed a home run over the left field fence. Trailing 15-4 after seven innings, the Purple Raiders took game one 15-4.

Game 2 – 19-8 Loss (8 Inn.)
A three-run home run off Nathan Powers put the visiting Purple Raiders ahead 3-0 in the first inning. JP Donelan had a two-out single, and Dominic Depa reached on a hit by pitch in the bottom half. Zane Matthews reached on an error, bringing in Donelan.
Leading 3-1, Mount Union scored three more runs in the top of the 2nd to lead 6-1. In relief of Powers, Trent Mendenhall threw a scoreless frame in the top of the 3rd. Wilmington attacked in the bottom half, with a leadoff single by Braden Chambers. Donelan and Depa each hit back-to-back doubles, with Depa scoring both runners to cut the deficit to 6-3. A single by Kyle Jennings and a walk by Caleb Fugate put ducks on the pond for Wilmington. Hayden Koonce reached via error, scoring a run. After a pitching change, Gabe McDowell pinch-hit and singled through the left side, scoring both runners to tie the score 6-6.
A single, fielder's choice, hit by pitch, and a passed ball put Mount Union back on top 8-6 in the top of the 4th. Donelan crushed a leadoff triple, and Depa drove him in with a sacrifice fly to trim the deficit to 9-7. The Purple Raiders answered with their own sacrifice fly to extend the lead to 10-7. Another sac fly by Mount Union pushed their lead to 11-7 in the top of the 6th. With two outs in the bottom half, Matthews singled in Chambers, who reached on a hit by pitch to trail 11-8.
After a weather delay in the top of the 7th, the visitors scored two more runs to lead 13-8. Mount Union scored six runs in the eighth, defeating Wilmington 19-8 in eight innings.
