(GAMBIER, Ohio) – The Wilmington College baseball team took down the Kenyon College Owls Sunday afternoon in non-conference action, 9-2.
Wilmington jumped out to a 3-0 lead over the first three innings of action. In the top of the second, the Quakers took advantage of a pair of errors that left
Kyle Jennings at third base with one out, before
Zane Matthews hit a sacrifice fly for a 1-0 lead.
After a hit by pitch and a single, Wilmington had a runner on third base in the third inning with one out before a
Braden Chambers RBI groundout and
Dominic Depa two out single into center field put the Quakers up 3-0.
Three more runs came in the top of the fifth on a Depa single to right field, Jennings RBI ground out, and a
Jake Stephens single into center field for a 6-1 lead.
Wilmington added single runs in the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings to cruise to their 9-2 victory.
