(MARIETTA, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team lost a battle with the Marietta College Pioneers Saturday afternoon on the road, 13-7.

After trailing 1-0 midway through the first quarter, goals from Danny Fitzpatrick and Brandon Osborne gave Wilmington a 2-1 lead with 3:38 remaining in the period. The Pioneers went on a 5-0 run to give themselves a 6-2 lead that would become 7-3 at halftime.

Wilmington fought hard throughout the remainder of the contest but fell 13-7.

Notables

• Garrett Reigelsperger and Danny Fitzpatrick both netted a pair of goals for Wilmington in the game, with Fitzpatrick adding a pair of assists for four points.
• Danny Fitzpatrick led the Quakers with seven shots in the game, while he and Reigelsperger tied with four shots on goal apiece.
• Tyler Spotts tied for the game high with six ground balls.
• Zach Swearingen had a game high two caused turnovers.
• Spotts won 10 face-offs for Wilmington.
• Skoebie Atkinson made 11 saves in between the pipes, while Peyton Thompson added three.
