(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team lost Tuesday afternoon to the Kalamazoo College Hornets in Williams Stadium, 9-5. They are now 0-2 to start their 2026 season.
The Quakers got out to a 4-1 lead halfway through the second quarter, with two of their goals coming from sophomore
Garrett Reigelsperger. Despite the early lead, the Quakers were outshot in the first quarter 13-5 with seven Hornets shots on goal to four for Wilmington.
Kalamazoo netted six goals in the second quarter to give themselves a 7-4 lead heading into the locker room.
Both teams took 10 shots in the third quarter, but the Hornets scored one more goal for an 8-4 lead heading into the final 15 minutes of action.
Wilmington got within three goals at the 13:05 mark in the fourth quarter after Reigelsperger's third tally of the game. However, the Hornets scored right after at 12:24 and held on for a 9-5 victory.
