Three Second Half Goals Lead Women's Soccer Past Heidelberg in Williams Stadium Saturday

(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College women's soccer team began Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play this afternoon with a win against the Heidelberg University Student Princes, 4-1. This win pushes the Quakers to 5-3-2 overall and 1-0 in the conference.

Sophomore Olivia Roye got Wilmington's scoring started in the sixth minute on a beautiful ball chipped over the keeper from roughly 30 yards out for a 1-0 lead.
The score stayed 1-0 at the half, with the Quakers outshooting Heidelberg 7-4 at the break.

The Student Princes tied the game in the 49th minute before Wilmington fought back with a go-ahead goal from Jaice Neumaier in the 52nd minute. After a free kick for the Quakers, the ball made it all the way down to the Student Princes keeper along with one defender, whose miscommunication allowed Neumaier a free shot at the net that she took advantage of for the lead.

Their next goal came off a poor kick from the Student Princes keeper as they played the ball back to her. Sophomore Avery Minteer took possession and found Emily Stall in the middle of the field who broke past the keeper coming out to try and make the play, giving her a shot at the net and a 3-1 lead.

The final goal came off a great pass to start the play to Jordan Snyder, who found freshman Aidyn Danison in the middle of the field. Danison took a left footed strike past the keeper for the 4-1 lead.
