Early Goals Doom Quakers in Loss vs. Ohio Northern

(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College women's soccer team fell at home inside Williams Stadium Wednesday night to the Ohio Northern University Polar Bears, 2-0. The Quakers overall record now sits at 5-4-2 and they are 1-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play.

Wilmington struggled in the first half, only taking one shot and fell behind 2-0 with Polar Bear tallies in the 19th and 26th minutes.

The Quakers fared much better in the second half, putting pressure on Ohio Northern with 10 total shots and five shots on goal. Senior goalkeeper Emma Storck did a great job keeping Wilmington in the game, making four saves over a five-minute period.

A few of Wilmington's best looks at a goal came from Gracie King after a free kick and Macy Million from well outside the box.

Notables
  • Wilmington took 11 shots in the game, with 10 of them coming in the second half. They had all five of their shots on goal in the second half.
  • Senior Emma Storck made 10 saves in goal for the Quakers. This is the fourth game of her career where she has made 10 or more saves.
  • Jordan Snyder led the team with four shots and two shots on goal.

What's Up Next
The Quakers travel to Marietta College Saturday afternoon for a 4:00 P.M. contest with the Pioneers, looking to get back on track with a victory.

Wilmington has won four and played to a draw in three during the last seven games against Marietta.
