(WILMINGTON, Ohio) - The Quakers swept Berea College in three sets on Friday night.
Wilmington kicked off the first set with a 3-0 lead, before going on a 7-2 run taking a 12-2 lead. The Quakers held onto their lead late in the first set with three straight kills, one from Lydia Bridenbaugh and two by Emelia Mohler. Wilmington won the first set 25-16.
The Quakers jumped out to a 3-0 lead with kills from Lydia Bridenbaugh, Sarah Brown, and Emelia Mohler. Berea came back, tying the score 8-8. Both teams fought for the lead late in the second set until Wilmington went on a 4-0 run, leading 19-16. The Quakers held onto their late lead and won the second set 25-21.Â
The Mountaineers took an 8-5 lead in the third set as both teams as the lead went back and forth. Wilmington led 17-15 late, until three straight points pushed the Quakers ahead 20-15. The Quakers contained the Mountaineers, winning two straight points with kills by Aubrey Clark and Sarah Brown, who secured match point, winning the third set 25-18 en route to a sweep.Â
