(WILMINGTON, Ohio) - The Quakers lost 2-0 to Wittenberg on Friday night.
Wittenberg took an early lead after an Asher Donahue goal in the 4th minute of the first half. The Tigers' attack kept putting pressure on the Quakers' back line, forcing Judah Hanks to make two straight saves just seconds apart.
Wilmington was unable to muster a true attack against Wittenberg's defense until 30 minutes into the first half. Logan Kent had a shot on goal, leading to a corner kick, and both Parker Burke and Eli Eyrich had shots on net but were unable to get past goalkeeper Aidan Rice.
The Quakers were able to keep possession throughout the end of the first half, mounting multiple offensive possessions but could not equalize, ending the half trailing 1-0 to the Tigers.
Four minutes into the second half, Christopher Meyer received a red card, leaving Wittenberg with only 10 men in the 49th minute. Wilmington took advantage of the ejection as Kaden Young took another shot on net but failed to score.
The Quakers' offense remained persistent, taking five shots in 10 minutes but still could not equalize. In the 88th minute, Connor Neidemire received a red card for preventing a clear path to the goal. Ever Zepeda stepped up for the Tigers and delivered a perfectly placed free kick into the top right corner, pushing Wittenberg ahead by two, ultimately winning 2-0.
