Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Domoe Wins It For Men's Soccer in the 89th Minute

(ANDERSON, Ind.) – The Wilmington College men's soccer team trailed 1-0 at halftime this afternoon against the Anderson University (Ind.) Ravens on the road. The team stormed back in the second half with a pair of goals, including one in the 89th minute to win the game and move to 2-0-1.

The Quakers didn't get a whole lot going offensively in the first half, they put three shots on goal and saw Anderson score in the 43rd minute to take a 1-0 lead.

The second half was a different story. Their first shot of the half came in the 56th minute where the Quakers defense took over and sent a pass through a few defenders and past midfield to junior Aidan Barnishin. He passed it to senior Kaden Young, who ripped one past the keeper into the upper 90 to tie the game at 1-1.

Both teams traded shots and corner kicks throughout the remainder of the half. The Quakers offense was offsides in the 88th minute, where Anderson took their free kick and had the ball on their offensive half of the field.

On the far side of the field, Wilmington overtook possession with a steal and found junior Jordan Domoe, who had two defenders to beat. He got past the defense and found the back of the net to put the Quakers in the win column with a 2-1 triumph, handing the Ravens a devastating loss.

Notables
  • Both Jordan Domoe and Kaden Young scored their first goals of the season this evening, while Aidan Barnishin had his first assist of the campaign.
