(FRANKLIN, Ind.) - Wilmington drops both matches of the doubleheader against Franklin College and Kalamazoo College in the first night of the Franklin Invitational.

The Quakers and Grizzlies fought back and forth in the first set. Wilmington took a small lead late, but Franklin went on a 6-2 scoring run to take a 20-17 lead. The Grizzlies closed out the first set 25-20.
Franklin took an early lead but Wilmington tied it 9-9 to start the second set. The Grizzlies retook the lead until the Quakers clawed back, taking a 19-18 lead. Franklin held off Wilmington to win the second set 25-23.
The Grizzlies jumped ahead early and held onto their lead throughout the third and final set. Trailing 17-10, the Quakers rallied and cut Franklin's lead to three, losing 23-20. Franklin held on to win the final set 25-21.

The Quakers and the Hornets traded leads throughout the first set. Wilmington led 13-10 until Kalamazoo went on an 11-3 run, leading 21-16 over the Quakers. The Hornets held on to win 25-20.
Kalamazoo jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the second set. Their lead was insurmountable, and the Hornets won the second set 25-19.
Wilmington trailed Kalamazoo early but a 7-0 streak gave the Quakers a 12-9 lead. The Hornets trailed 19-14 in the third set, but came back to win the set 25-23, defeating Wilmington in three sets.
