(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's soccer team treated their fans to a 2-0 shutout win over Rose-Hulman this afternoon to begin their home slate. This win makes them 1-0-1 on the young season.
Neither team got much going offensively over the first 20 minutes of the game. The Fightin' Engineers took two shots and the Quakers put one on goal. Junior
Jace Houck broke through for Wilmington in the 26th minute on a bullet into the top left corner off an assist from freshman
Brayden Spencer. This 1-0 lead would hold into halftime.
Rose-Hulman took four shots within the first 25 minutes of the second half, but none were on goal. In the 83rd minute, senior
Connor Neidemire had a throw in that was nearly a corner kick. The ball knocked of the head of a few players before landing directly on
Parker Burke's right foot, who smoked it past the keeper for the dagger and a 2-0 lead.
