Burke and Malow Score in 2-2 Draw to Open 2025 Campaign

(CINCINNATI, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's soccer team drew their first game of the season Friday evening at Mount St. Joseph University, 2-2. They begin the 2025 campaign 0-0-1 and will open their home schedule Sunday afternoon against Rose-Hulman.

Sophomore Parker Burke picked up where he left off in his freshman season in the third minute of the game with a goal for the Quakers to take a 1-0 lead. Alen Salihbegovic tallied an assist.

The Quakers were all over the net for the remainder of the first half, putting four shots on goal, but couldn't find a tally before the Lions tied the game at 1-1 in the 53rd minute.

Sophomore Akol Malow scored the second goal of his career in the 76th minute to give the Quakers a 2-1 advantage. The Lions fought back and tied the game at 2-2 in the 81st minute. Mount St. Joseph took three more shots before the end of the contest.
