(RICHMOND, Ind.) – The Wilmington College men's cross country team won their first meet of the season at Earlham College Friday afternoon with a team score of 19, as they competed in a 5k race.
For the first time in his collegiate career, senior
Tate Yoder won the race with a time of 16:17.50, edging out teammate and fellow senior
Gabe Moore, who finished second in 16:20.10. Moore smashed his previous cross country 5k record of 16:46.0.
In the first races of their college careers,
Simeon Williamson and
Braydon Buchanan ran well. Williamson finished in fourth at 17:28.60 and Buchanan took fifth in 17:35.0.
The Quakers had three more finishers in the Top-10 in freshmen Ethan Deroest (7th, 17:47.60),
Cameron Adkins (8th, 18:02.0), and junior
Bryson Robinette (10th, 18:28.20). Robinette crushed his previous personal best time of 19:30.3.

The Quakers travel to conference foe Otterbein University for the Otterbein Invitational on September 13th to check out the course they will be competing in at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships later in the season.
