Men's Lacrosse Falls on the Road to Muskingum

(NEW CONCORD, Ohio) - On Wednesday evening the Wilmington College men's lacrosse team traveled to New Concord to take on the Muskingum University Fighting Muskies. The Quakers were defeated by a final score of 14-7. 

They fell behind 5-1 after the first period, but hung with the Muskies the rest of the way. They tied 3-3 in quarter two and were outscored 3-2 and 3-1 in the final two quarters. Three straight goals from Brock Fugate, Nick Roca, and Fugate again cut the lead to 7-4 midway through the second period.

Notables
  • Nick Roca, Brock Fugate and Caleb Mann each scored two goals.
  • Freshman Garrett Reigelsperger scored one goal.
  • Mann and Reigelsperger both had an assist.
  • Mann and Kegan Campbell led the Quakers with six groundballs each. Campbell also led the team with four caused turnovers. 
  • Noah Pressman won seven faceoffs.
  • Goalkeeper Peyton Thompson recorded 17 saves.
  • The Quakers were successful on 23 of 29 clear attempts.
  • Wilmington took 30 shots with 13 on goal. These are both season highs in a conference contest.
