(ANDERSON, Ind.) The visiting Wilmington Quakers dust themselves off after being swept just a day ago, and go on the road to Anderson University and sweep the Ravens 8-3 and 12-0.
GAME ONE
The scoring for the Quakers started in the top of the first when Judaea Wilson slaps a 1-2 pitch into the left field gap to bring home Jocelyn Franz.
Haley Johnson smacked an 0-1 pitch past the pitcher into center, bringing in Wilson.
After the Ravens tied the game, scoring one in the first and third, respectively, the Quakers came out in the fourth and scored six runs.
Raven pitching walked six, three with the bases loaded.
With the bases loaded, Addysen Stevens sent the 1-0 pitch to the left field fence, bringing Alasandra Spears and Ashley Jo Hardesty home.
The Quakers then had three straight walks on ten consecutive balls before Haley Johnson singled over third base, scoring Kori Cornett.
Anderson threatened with the bases loaded with two outs in the bottom of the sixth before Gracey Dearmon got Bynum swinging, and then with two on in the bottom of the seventh, before Dearmon got the pop out to end the game.
Judaea Wilson went 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs, a walk and a stolen base.
Johnson went 2-4 with two RBIs.
Berry went 2-4 with a run scored.
Makenzie O'Neil went 5.2 in the start, giving up three runs on seven hits and two walks. Dearmon went 1.1, giving up a hit and a walk in the seventh and getting two strikeouts.
The Quakers played well when the opportunities mattered most.
O'Neil and Dearmon gave up three hits on 17 chances with runners on, while the offense hit .500 with runners in scoring position (5-for-10) and with the bases loaded (2-for-4) and .833 with runners on and less than two outs (5-for-6)
GAME TWO
The Quakers jumped on Raven pitching, with a four-run first.
With two on and one out, Johnson hits a 1-1 lazy fly ball to right, which goes off the right fielder's mitt, bringing Franz home.
After another Quaker walk, Hardesty sends a 2-1 pitch scorching by the pitcher's ear into center field, scoring two.
Two batters later, Rachel Berry drops one inside the line in short left field, scoring another run, for a 4-0 Quaker lead.
In the second, the Quakers would add two more, on a Franz ground out with Cornett on second and Stevens on third, scoring Stevens. Johnson, two pitches later, sent the ball to right center to score Cornett from third.
Next inning, with the bases loaded and a full count, Franz brings home two with a well-placed liner into short left field for the 8-0 lead.
Sam Schwab would be responsible for the next three runs over her next two plate appearances, walking in a run in the third and shooting a 2-2 pitch into the right field corner to bring home two in the fifth.
Hardesty would bring home Schwab with a double down the left field line on the first pitch to give the Quakers the 12-0 lead and eventual win.
Belle Baughman nets her seventh win of the year with a 5-inning, 3-hit complete game shutout performance. Baughman would walk one, and strikeout two.
