Four Men's Swimmers Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

(GREENWOOD, Ind.) – The College Sports Communicators (CSC), formerly known as the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), announced their Men's Swimming Academic All-District teams this afternoon and the Quakers had four swimmers honored.

To be eligible, you must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have at least a 3.50 GPA, and must have competed in five competitions or finished in the top-eight at a conference meet.

Senior Austin Reed was honored for the second time in his career while junior Sondre Haugen and sophomores Jo Pedersen and Adam Moneypenny earned recognition for the first time as Quakers. Haugen also moves onto the ballot for Academic All-America, which will be voted on by CSC members. 

These four were also named Academic-All Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) a few weeks ago.

Reed competed for the Quakers in the B finals at the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championships in the 500 Yard Freestyle, 200 Yard Freestyle, and 100 Yard Freestyle. He is a Business Administration major with a Finance and Economics concentration.

Haugen won the OAC championship in the 500 Yard Freestyle (4:32.59) and 200 Yard Freestyle, while also swimming an NCAA B cut time and OAC record time of 1:39.01 in the 200 Free. He also finished fifth in the 100 Yard Freestyle at 46.16 seconds. He is a Business Administration major with a Marketing concentration.

Pedersen competed in the A finals of the 200 Yard Breaststroke (Sixth, 2:08.11), 200 Yard IM (Seventh, 1:56.00), and 200 Yard Freestyle (Eighth, 1:43.74) at the OAC championships. He is a Business Administration major with a Management concentration.

Moneypenny swam in the B finals at the OAC championships in the 100 Yard Breaststroke, 200 Yard Breaststroke, and 200 Yard IM. He is a Sport Management & Communication Arts major with a concentration in Digital Media Production.
