(WILMINGTON, Ohio) - In a double-header against the visiting Bluffton Beavers, the host Wilmington Quakers goes wire-to-wire in a 16-11 first game win and run ruling the second game 13-0.

In game one, Haley Johnson takes a Grace Gronberg fastball over the left center fence in the first inning for a three-run homerun to get the scoring started for the Quakers.

In game two, the Quakers chase starter Hayley Lewis after facing ten batters and only getting one out, scoring six runs in the opening inning.

Game One Recap

Johnson's home run proved to be enough for the Quakers to get through the first inning, after Gronberg scored off a Judaea Wilson error.

In the second inning the Quakers, the Quakers jumped on Gronberg for eight runs off eight hits, facing 12 Quaker hitters. Wilmington hit five singles and three doubles in that second inning.

Trailing 11-1 entering the third, Bluffton made a small run scoring 4 runs and one more in the fourth.

Claire Scully went 4-4, with 2 RBIs and a double, scoring three runs. Johnson went 3-5 with a double, homerun, 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

Gracey Dearmon pitched 2.2 innings of relief for the win, yielding 8 hits and 6 earned runs, two walks and earning one strikeout.

Makenzie O'Neil pitched two-plus innings for the start, yielding two hits and 3 runs, two of which were earned and five walks. Dearmon came in in the top of the third after O'Neil yielded two walks on eight pitches.

Game Two Recap

Belle Baughman pitched a complete game two-hit shutout for the Quakers, with only four Beavers reach base and facing 18 hitters.

The Quakers hit Bluffton hard and fast in the bottom of the first, with four doubles in a five batter streak. With the bases loaded and no outs, the number four batter, Samantha Schwab takes a 2-2 pitch from Lewis and lines it past Bluffton third baseman, Kaylee Grant, scoring Jocelyn Franz and Kori Cornett.

Alasandra Spears, the sixth batter, then hit a 2-0 outside pitch just over Grant's shoulder for a double of her own, scoring Wilson and Schwab for a 4-0 lead.

The seventh batter, Ashley Jo Hardesty took a 2-1 pitch over Grant's head into left field, scoring Spears.

Scully, batting eighth, took a 1-1 pitch to center field, just beyond a diving Julia Tegeder for the fourth double in five batters and the third straight double, scoring Hardesty.

Lewis would only see two more batter before being pulled for Colleen Meese. But the damage had been done, with Bluffton trailing 6-0 after the first inning.

Hardesty would go 3-3 in the game with a double, 2 RBIs, a stolen base, and scoring twice.

Franz would go 2-2 with 2 RBIs and a walk, and a run.
