Mann Scores Five Goals in Quakers First Victory of the Season Over Bethany

(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team won their first game of the season Sunday afternoon over the visiting Bethany College (WV) Bison, 11-9.

The Bison found themselves with a 6-5 halftime advantage, but four straight goals from Wilmington to start the third quarter gave them a lead they wouldn't relinquish for the remainder of the contest.

The Quakers improve to 1-1 overall this season, as they will be back in action at home on Tuesday afternoon.

Wilmington held a 4-2 lead after the first quarter, thanks to a pair of goals from Nick Roca. The Bison stormed back though with three straight goals to start the second quarter and give themselves a 5-4 advantage, and their eventual halftime lead.

As mentioned, Wilmington took back the lead with four straight goals for a 9-6 advantage thanks to a pair of goals from Caleb Mann. Bethany cut the deficit to one on a pair of occasions down the stretch, but the Quakers held off their rally for the victory.
