(AKRON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's swimming team finished fifth at the 2025 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championships Saturday night with 335 team points.
The Quakers most successful event of the night was the 200 Yard Breaststroke, where they had two swimmers in the A finals and one in the B finals.
Parker Basener finished in fifth place at 2:05.90, while
Jo Pedersen snagged sixth at 2:08.11.
Adam Moneypenny finished 14th in the event, touching the wall in 2:19.18.
Sondre Haugen was the lone Quaker in the 100 Yard Freestyle A finals, while
Austin Reed was in the B finals. Haugen swam to a fifth-place finish time of 46.16 seconds, and Reed took 14th at 47.43 seconds.
In the 200 Backstroke B finals was
John Good, who finished in a time of 2:00.50 for 12th place.
Ryan Washburn took 15th in the 200 Yard Butterfly at 2:19.02 while
Nathan Duerk was 16th with a time of 2:22.12.
The final event saw Haugen, Reed, Good, and Pedersen swim a new program record time of 3:05.42 in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, where they finished in fourth place.
The Quakers had an extremely successful week at the OAC Championships.
Sondre Haugen won a pair of OAC Championships in the 200 Yard Freestyle (1:39.01) and the 500 Yard Freestyle (4:32.59). These are both new program records and his time in the 200 Free is an NCAA B cut time and a new OAC record in the event.
The 800 Yard Freestyle Relay team earned All-OAC honors. The team consisted of Haugen, Reed, Good, and Pedersen, and took second at 6:47.66 for a new program record.

Sondre Haugen has an opportunity to compete in the NCAA Division III Championships after his B cut time in the 200 Yard Freestyle this week.
