(BEREA, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's basketball team lost a road contest Saturday afternoon at Baldwin Wallace University, 69-65. The Quakers were within two with a minute remaining, but the Yellow Jackets held the Quakers off in Ursprung Gymnasium.
Both teams fought out to an 11-11 stalemate a little over five minutes into the contest. The Quakers eventually took an 18-17 lead but wouldn't score for nearly nine minutes as they fell behind 23-18. Wilmington got the lead back late in the first half with an 8-2 flurry for a 26-25 halftime advantage.
Ben Golan had four points during this time for the Quakers.
Wilmington started off the second half on a quick 5-0 scurry for a 31-25 lead. Baldwin Wallace tied the game at 35-35. However, four
Domenic Farley points followed by an
Obed Achirem layup pushed the Quakers lead back out to 41-35 with just under 15 minutes remaining in the contest.
The Yellow Jackets followed this with a huge 30-12 run for their largest lead of the half at 65-53 with 4:37 to play.
A 12-2 explosion from Wilmington cut the lead to 67-65 with just over a minute left. This rally was led by
Rashid Chisholm and
Elijah Cathey. Unfortunately, the Quakers wouldn't score another point and lost 69-65.

- Rashid Chisholm led the Quakers with 18 points, his ninth game in a row with double digit points and 17th this season.
- Obed Achirem had 15 points for his fourth consecutive game with 11 or more points. He has 15 games this season with double digit points.
- Domenic Farley and Ben Golan had 10 points. Farley has eight games in double digits while Golan has four.
- Gavin Heimlich led the team with eight rebounds and Achirem dished out three assists to lead the Quakers.
- Elijah Cathey had a game high two blocks, while Chisholm tied for the game high with two steals.
- The Quakers outshot the Yellow Jackets 40.3% (25-62) to 36.9% (24-65).
- Wilmington had more points in the paint (38-34), points off turnovers (14-10), and both teams tied with 10 second chance points.
