(AKRON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's swimming team continued their record-breaking week at the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championships Friday night, as
Sondre Haugen and
Parker Basener both broke program records.
Haugen beat the field by over a second in the 200 Yard Freestyle, swimming an NCAA B cut time of 1:39.01 to finish first. This gives him his second OAC Championship of the week and beats his own program record in the event. Basener finished fourth in the 400 Yard IM at 4:13.09 and takes down Erik Spraul's old program record of 4:14.98 from 2015-16.
John Good competed in the 100 Yard Backstroke and touched the wall in 51.51 seconds for fifth place.
Jo Pedersen also competed in the A finals of the 200 Yard Freestyle and finished in a time of 1:43.74 for eighth place.
Adam Moneypenny swam the B finals of the 100 Yard Breaststroke and finished 10th overall and second in the finals with a time of 1:00.53.
Austin Reed took 13th in the 200 Yard Freestyle, swimming a 1:45.23.
Ryan Washburn was in the B finals of the 100 Yard Butterfly and came away in 15th place, touching the wall in 58.61 seconds.
The Quakers sit in fifth place as a team with 250 points heading into the final day.
