(AKRON, Ohio) - The Wilmington college men's swimmers took to the pool on Wednesday evening for the 800 yard freestyle relay at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships (OAC) in Akron.

The Quakers team of Sondre Haugen, Austin Reed, John Good and Jo Pedersen finished in second with a time of 6:47.66, 1.05 seconds behind the winning team from John Carroll University.

Haugen opened up a big lead on his opening leg, with a 1.5 second lead over the University of Mount Union, who was second going into the second swimmer. Haugen's 200 Freestyle time of 1:39.51 broke his own program record in the event. Reed held onto the lead, even as second place changed hands from Mount Union to John Carroll.
