Newcomers Shine in Season Opening Loss to Hanover Monday Night

(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team opened their 2025 season Monday night at home in Williams Stadium against the Hanover College Panthers. They fell behind early and couldn't make the comeback in a 15-5 loss to fall to 0-1 to start their campaign.

Wilmington fell behind 6-0 after the first period of action, having taken six shots in the quarter with several on goal. Their first goal of the season came with 9:30 remaining in the half from freshman Caleb Mann on an assist from Garrett Reigelsperger to cut the lead to 7-1. Reigelsperger added a goal of his own later in the quarter from Tyler Cunningham, as the score was 9-2 at the break.

The Quakers next goal came on an unassisted strike from captain Nick Roca with 9:23 remaining in the third quarter. The final tallies of the game came from Mann on an assist from Zach Swearingen and Reigelsperger picked up a second goal in the fourth from Mann.
