(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's basketball team lost at home to the Oberlin College Yeomen, 83-75 and fall to 3-5 overall this season.
Less than eight minutes into the game, the Yeomen held a 20-11 lead over the Quakers. Their lead continued to grow throughout the remainder of the half, and Oberlin led 45-27 at the break.
Wilmington came out hot in the second half, using a 15-9 run to cut the lead down to 12 at 54-42. The Quakers used eight points from
Elijah Cathey and four from
Gabe Green to fuel the rally.
This run continued as they outscored the Yeomen 17-9 over the following seven minutes to go down by just four points at 63-59 with 8:47 remaining in the game. Several Quakers contributed to this run to get back into the game.
Oberlin responded with a 12-4 stretch of their own to go back up 12 at 75-63. The Quakers cut the lead back down to six on a few occasions down the stretch, but eventually lost the game.
