(WILMINGTON, Ohio) - Quakers fall at home against the Polar Bears 75-40.
The visiting Polar Bears went on a monstrous run to start the game. Ohio Northern went on a 23-0 run in the first seven minutes of the opening quarter. Stephanie Altstaetter got the Quakers on the board with a layup. Katie Dryer hit a three for Wilmington as the Polar Bears led 28-5 at the end of the first.
Wilmington responded well in the second quarter. Sierra McCoin opened the quarter with back-to-back threes for the Quakers. Stephanie Gandy converted an and-one to put Wilmington behind 35-14. Ashton Harris had a layup, and Gabby Russell nailed a three with two minutes left. Ohio Northern led 43-21 going into the half. The Quakers outscored the Polar Bears 16-15 in the second quarter.
Ohio Northern had another strong quarter holding Wilmington to 11 points and scoring 21. Altstaetter scored four straight for the Quakers. The Polar Bears shooting stayed in rhythm taking a 64-32 lead into the final quarter.
Jazz Johnson made both free throws to open the fourth quarter for Wilmington. Reese Pittman drained a three with a minute left as the Polar Bears closed out a 75-40 win at Hermann Court.
