(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College women's basketball team lost their final game of the 2025 Fred Raizk Memorial Classic Sunday afternoon to Wittenberg University, 70-57, as they begin their season 0-2. They trailed 32-31 at the break but struggled in the second half en route to defeat. They have their first road game of the season on Wednesday night at Denison University.
The first quarter was back and forth, with the teams all square at 11-11 with 3:36 remaining in the quarter. The Quakers outscored the Tigers 7-4 over the final minute of the period, using four points from senior
Gabby Russell.
Wilmington held a 29-26 lead with 2:07 remaining in the half, but a 6-2 Tigers rally took them into the break with a 32-31 advantage. After shooting nearly 60% in the first quarter, the Quakers struggled in the second period, shooting 31%.
Wittenberg dominated the third quarter, outscoring Wilmington 26-15, knocking down five threes in the process for a 58-46 lead heading into the final period of action.
The Quakers couldn't get within 11 points during the final quarter in their loss.

- For the second straight game, Gabby Russell scored double digit points, scoring 15 with eight points off free throws. Her 15 points were a game high.
- Freshman Jazz Johnson scored 13 points for her first double digit game as a Quaker.
- Senior Stephanie Altstaetter grabbed a game high 11 rebounds, including five offensive rebounds.
- Sophomore Ashton Harris had a team high three assists.
- Junior Katie Dryer had a game high three steals while Johnson added two.
- Sophomore Sierra McCoin had one block.

Wilmington travels to Granville, Ohio for a 7:00 P.M. matchup with the Denison University Big Red on Wednesday night. They will be looking for their first win over Denison since the 2016-17 season.
