(GRANVILLE, Ohio) - The Quakers fell on the road 85-46 against the Big Red of Denison University.
Stephanie Altstaetter hit a three to get Wilmington on the board. Jazz Johnson nailed a three as well two minutes later to give the Quakers a 7-3 lead. Denison then finished the quarter on a 26-5 run to take a commanding 29-12 lead heading into the second quarter.
The Big Red took full control of the second quarter, limiting Wilmington to just two points. Denison went on a 16-point run to jump ahead 45-12 until Olivia Trusty scored the Quakers' only points as Wilmington went into the half trailing 49-14.
Jazz Johnson drained a three to open the third quarter, and Gabby Russell had a jumper fall. Trusty and Sierra McCoin each scored as the Quakers clawed back, but the Denison offense continued to stay in control. The Big Red led 56-26 halfway through the third. McCoin continued her scoring run, but Wilmington trailed 69-30 heading into the final quarter.
Wilmington matched Denison, scoring 16 points each in the fourth quarter. Six different Quakers scored, including a three-pointer from Reese Pittman. The Big Red proved to be too much, defeating the Quakers 85-46.
