(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's basketball team lost Saturday afternoon in Hermann Court in overtime to the Mount St. Joseph University Lions, 79-77. A last second shot from senior
Domenic Farley forced the overtime period, but a late Lions run in overtime gave them the victory.
The Quakers held an early three-point lead in the first half after a layup from Matt Debrosse made it 12-9, but the Lions used a 13-3 run over the following four minutes to give themselves a 22-15 lead.
Wilmington got within two points a few times throughout the remainder of the half, but Mount St. Joseph took a 31-24 lead into the locker room.
The Quakers came out hot in the second half, using an 11-4 rally over the first three minutes of action to tie the game at 35-35. Farley had four points during this stretch to lead Wilmington, while
Carson Miles also added a three pointer.
This run would continue and eventually lead to a 40-35 Quakers lead. Wilmington's lead would grow to as many as nine points at 52-43 and 55-46 with under 10 minutes to play. The Lions started chipping away at the lead and eventually retook the advantage after a three pointer made the score 62-61 with exactly three minutes remaining.
With under 15 seconds to play and trailing by two, Farley worked around the defense and gave himself a step back jump shot, which he made to tie the game at 67-67 and send it to overtime.
Wilmington began overtime with a pair of threes from
Elijah Cathey and Miles for a 73-67 advantage. However, the Lions struck right back with a 7-0 run for a 74-73 lead with under 1:30 to play in the game.
The Quakers retook the lead for the final time with a pair of made free throws from Farley to push it to 75-74, but a made jumper from Mount St. Joseph and a pair of missed shots from Wilmington gave them the advantage. They iced the game from the free throw line and won 79-77.

- Junior Carson Miles had a career high 23 points, as he knocked down seven three pointers in the game.
- Domenic Farley continued his strong week with 19 points.
- Miles also led Wilmington with seven rebounds, while junior Ben Golan had two blocks, and senior Zach McGuirt had three steals.
