(WILMINGTON, Ohio) - Four Quakers score in Wilmington's 4-1 victory over Muskingum to extend their win streak to five.
The Quakers offense was a problem all night for the Fighting Muskies. Alex Wilson and Jordan Snyder peppered the defense with shots in the first 15 minutes. Wilmington broke through in the 19th minute when Jordan Snyder played a perfect through ball to MJ Little who beat the keeper. Up 1-0, the Quakers attack remained persistent.
Gracie King played Olivia Malicoat short on a corner kick and Malicoat served a ball over top that found the back of the net in the 28th minute. Leading 2-0, Delaney Benjamin delivered a great ball to Alex Wilson in the 33rd minute who dribbled by and found the back of the net with her left foot.
Wilmington's first half offensive attack was not done yet. In the 36th minute, Jaice Neumaier ripped a shot from outside the box and over the head of the Muskingum keeper to put the Quakers up 4-0. The Quakers held onto their 4-0 lead to end the half.
The Quakers attack could not find the back of the net in the second half but continued their barrage of shots. In the 71st minute, the Fighting Muskies broke through and scored their first goal of the game. Brooke Elliott relieved Emma Storck four minutes later and closed out the 4-1 win for Wilmington.
