(COLUMBUS, Ohio) - The Quakers fell on the road 1-0 to Capital on Wednesday night.
The Comets were the aggressor early in the first half forcing three straight corner kicks in two minutes. In the 20th minute, Capital scored the only goal of the match to take a 1-0 lead. MJ Little and Elyse Waggoner both tried to equalize in the 24th minute but failed to. Little had another chance in the 29th minute, but her attempt was saved. Each team traded possessions back and forth as the first half came to an end.
Down 1-0, the Quakers found themselves on their heels early again. Capital had three shots on goal requiring Emma Storck to make three saves in under six minutes. Wilmington had a chance in the 62nd minute but Jordan Snyder's shot was saved and on the rebound Little's shot was also saved. The Comets countered immediately, forcing Storck to make yet another save. Alex Wilson had a shot saved in the 78th minute, but Olivia Malicoat's last chance effort in the 89th minute was saved as the Comets held on to win 1-0.
