(BEREA, Ohio) – The Wilmington College women's swim team began their 2025-26 campaign this afternoon on the road at Baldwin Wallace University with a 165-28 loss.
Leading the way for Wilmington was senior
Sydney Overmyer, who finished second and third in her two individual events along with a third-place relay finish. Her first event of the day was the 200 Yard Medley Relay, where she teamed up with junior
Sophia Mignery, junior
Gabby Kuetemeyer, and senior
Abbi Whitesell for a third-place finish at 2:06.24. Overmyer finished the lead leg in 32.43 seconds.
Overmyer took second in her first individual event, the 200 Yard Freestyle, touching the wall in 2:16.57, just edging out the Yellow Jackets Ariel Lisy, who finished in 2:16.75. She was third in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 6:15.58 to conclude her quality day.
Kuetemeyer had a pair of individual third place finishes in the 200 Yard IM and 100 Yard Breaststroke along with the 200 Yard Medley Relay. She finished the 200 Yard IM in 2:32.44 and the 100 Yard Breaststroke in 1:17.22.
Mignery touched the wall in her lone individual event, the 100 Yard Freestyle, in 1:05.33 for a third-place finish. She was also a part of both third-place relay teams, including the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team that saw senior
Elizabeth Hensley, junior
Alaina Reynek, and Whitesell finish with a time of 2:01.41. Mignery swam the anchor leg and had the team's fastest time at 27.92 seconds.
