Men's Soccer Shuts Down Baldwin Wallace on the Road

(BEREA, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's soccer team got back on track Saturday night at Baldwin Wallace University with a 2-0 shutout victory. They improve to 4-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) and are 11-3-2 overall this season.

The Quakers were all over the Yellow Jackets keeper early, taking three of their eight shots in the first half during the first three and a half minutes of play. They had shots on target from Kaden Young and Parker Burke. Young put one final shot on goal for Wilmington in the first half in the 24th minute of a scoreless first 45 minutes of play.

Wilmington had one shot in the second half before finally striking in the 61st minute. Noah Lee sent in a corner kick right off the head of Eli Eyrich past the keeper for a 1-0 lead.

Six minutes later they scored again. Vigor Karlsson gained possession deep in their own territory and began to make his way up the field. He passed to Young who passed to Jordan Domoe. Six Yellow Jackets swarmed Domoe and left Burke wide open up the right side of the field for an easy one on one with the keeper and struck it past him for a 2-0 lead.

Burke had one more solid look at the end of the game, but it was saved, as the Quakers won in a shutout.
