(WOOSTER, Ohio) -Â Three first-half turnovers and Wooster's Carter Warstler returning the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown set the tone for the Wilmington Quakers 56-13 loss to the Fighting Scots at John P. Papp Stadium in Wooster on Saturday.
Issac Ross threw three interceptions but was 29-49 for 400 yards.
Lathan Jones picked up 110 receiving yards on six catches, with the Quakers longest catch being 45 yards. Ross scored the game's second touchdown on a three-yard scramble to cap a 6-play, 91-yard drive, which brought the Quakers the closest to the lead they would see at 8-6.
The Fighting Scots would then score 35 points to take the game to half at 42-6. Coming out of the halftime break, Wilmington would score on their first drive with a
Kai Smith 30-yard run to bring it to 42-13. Wooster then scored two more touchdowns in the second half to close the game at 56-13.
Na'Zere Neal had 7 tackles, and
Jake Sheriff and
Samuel Brooks had six tackles.
Jack Sandberg had 2 tackles for loss.
The Fighting Scots fumbled, and it was picked up by
Quentin Davis and returned 12 yards by
Caleb Gardner.
De'Anta Sanon led the team with 135 all-purpose yards, 90 receiving yards, and 45 return yards on two kick returns.
Demyran Joy had 123 all-purpose yards with six rushing yards, 56 receiving yards, and 61 return yards.

The Quakers will welcome the Yellow Jackets from Baldwin Wallace University next week at Williams Stadium for both the Quakers home opener and their Ohio Athletic Conference opener at 1:30 P.M.
