(WESTERVILLE, Ohio) – After a fantastic day at Transylvania University in a tri-dual that also involved Wittenberg University, sophomore
Jo Pedersen was named the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Men's Swimmer of the Week for the first time in his career.
Pedersen competed in four events for the Quakers on Saturday afternoon in Lexington, Kentucky, with two being individual events and two relays. To begin his day, he swam alongside
John Good,
Parker Basener, and
Sondre Haugen in the 200 Yard Medley Relay. This team won the relay with a time of 1:39.77.
His first individual event was the 200 Yard Freestyle, where he won at 1:49.25 by over three seconds. He followed this up with a victory in the 100 Yard Freestyle, being the only swimmer to break 50 seconds at 49.25.
His final event of the day was the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay where he teamed up with Good, Haugen, and
Austin Reed to dominate the competition by nearly seven seconds and win with a time of 1:30.34. Pedersen was the Quakers anchor leg in both relays he swam in.
Pedersen and the Quakers will be back in the pool Saturday afternoon in a dual at Hiram College beginning at 1:00 P.M.
