(WILMINGTON, Ohio) - Wilmington sprinted out to a 57-54 third-quarter lead with Denison's Abby Cooch on the bench with three fouls in the first half, but that momentum didn't carry over to the fourth quarter in a Quakers 70-62 loss to the Denison University Big Red on Wednesday night.
The Quakers held a high-scoring Big Red offense, averaging 82 points per game through four games, to 12 fewer points than their season average and seven fewer than their lowest-scoring game this season. Wilmington also scored the second-most points on Denison this season, with only Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC)-foe Capital University scoring more on the Big Red.
The Quakers jumped out to that lead in the third by outscoring the Big Red 26-17, but fell behind 16-5 in the fourth as Denison completed the comeback for their victory.

- ZahKyria Walker and Cassidy Lovett each led the Quakers with 14 points, second-highest in the game, behind Denison's Abby Westmeyer, who scored 20.
- Stephanie Altstaetter and Natalie Rupp each scored eight for the Quakers and Sierra McCoin had seven.
- Altstaetter pulled down seven rebounds, with Lovett pulling down six of her own.
- Lovett tallied five steals to lead both teams.
