Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Five Quakers Score in Double Digits in Loss at Anderson (Ind.)

(ANDERSON, Ind.) – The Wilmington College men's basketball team lost their game at Anderson University (Ind.) Monday night by a final score of 92-78. The Quakers played tough with the Ravens in the second half, tying their scoring output at 47 apiece, but a 14-point halftime deficit doomed the Quakers. This loss drops Wilmington to 1-3 overall this season, as they will be back at home for their first Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) game of the season next Tuesday against Muskingum University.

The Ravens jumped right out to a 12-4 lead over Wilmington less than seven minutes into the game. This lead grew to 27-14 with 8:58 to play in the first half. However, Wilmington got a much needed 8-0 run to gain the momentum and cut the lead to 27-22. A three pointer from Domenic Farley and Bryce Bird, coupled with a Rashid Chisholm fastbreak layup fueled the rally.

Anderson weathered the storm though and used a 12-6 push to extend their lead back out to 39-28 with 2:34 to play in the first half. The Ravens didn't let up and took a 45-31 lead into the locker room.

Wilmington came out hot in the second half, using two three pointers and an Obed Achirem layup to trim the deficit to six at 45-39. Much like the first half though, the Ravens didn't blink and went on a 10-2 flurry to take back a double-digit lead at 55-41. A quick 8-3 run from the Quakers briefly got the lead back to single digits at 58-49, but it was all Anderson for the remainder of the contest after that.
