Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Can't Complete Comeback in 2-1 Loss at Capital

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's soccer team dropped a tough 2-1 decision at Capital University tonight. The Comets took a two-goal lead 59 minutes into the game, and that was enough as the Quakers couldn't complete the comeback.

This moves Wilmington to 11-2-3 overall this season and 4-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) as they look to get back on track at home Saturday against John Carroll.

Capital scored their first goal of the game nine minutes into the contest and would hold that 1-0 lead going into halftime. The Quakers took nine shots during the first 45 minutes of play.

The Comets doubled their lead in the 59th minute on a Brennan Hesse tally, making it 2-0. The Quakers goal came in the 60th minute. Kaden Young sent a pass to Randy Harris near the box. Harris drew the goalkeeper out of the net before sending a left footed pass to Parker Burke, who was one on one with a defender and beat him for a goal right into the middle of the net.

The Quakers best chance to tie it came in the 85th minute on a penalty kick, but Burke's shot was saved, and this helped lead the Comets to the victory.
