Quakers Grab Lead During Senior Night, Fall Late to John Carroll

(WILMINGTON, Ohio) - After 55 minutes played, the Wilmington Quakers had a 2-1 lead, but proceeded to give up a hat trick to Logan Penton in 10 minutes and falter in their final Ohjio Athletic Conference (OAC) matchup between the Quakers and the John Carroll Blue Streaks on Saturday in Wilmington. Wilmington is now 11-3-3 overall this season and 4-3 in the OAC.

Pregame, the Quakers recognized five graduating student-athletes; Jackson Beske, Alfie Harris, Randy Harris, Peyton Tennis, and Luke Washenfelder as their careers wind down.

Once the match got under way, the Quakers gave up an early goal to John Carroll with an 18th minute tally by Jaden Wright.

18 minutes later, the Quakers scored the equalizer with a Jace Houck goal off an assist by William Jansson, and halftime would arrive with both teams tied at 1.

Kaden Young put a goal past Brenden Moher in the 53rd minute to give the Quakers the 2-1 lead.

That lead would be short-lived however, as Logan Penton scores with an assist from Luka Pranjeta in the 57th minute. Then Penton scored twice more in the 62nd minute and the 64th minute, to give the Blue Streaks a 4-2 lead.

Kaden Young scored his second goal in the 65th minute to bring the match a bit closer at 4-3 before ultimately falling.
