(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's swimming team lost to the Baldwin Wallace University Yellow Jackets in their first meet of the season Saturday morning by a close score of 96-76.
The Quakers got off to a hot start in the 200 SC Meter Medley Relay, winning the event with a time of 1:51.16.
John Good,
Parker Basener,
Sondre Haugen, and
Jo Pedersen were the participants in the event for the Quakers.
In the 800 SC Meter Freestyle, Basener dominated the competition with a time of 9:18.49, winning by nearly a minute and 30 seconds despite never swimming the event before. Haugen won the 200 SC Meter Freestyle at 1:58.31 and was the only competitor under two minutes. Good won the 50 SC Meter Freestyle with a time of 25.29.
Haugen also won the 100 SC Meter Butterfly, barely edging out Baldwin Wallace's Tommie McQueary at 59.74 to his 59.82. Pedersen took the 100 SC Meter Freestyle in 56.59 before Good won the 100 SC Meter Backstroke, touching the wall in 1:04.03. Basener ended his day with a win in the 100 SC Meter Breaststroke, taking the win in 1:10.79.
