(STEUBENVILLE, Ohio) – The Franciscan Barons defeated the Wilmington Quakers 3-0 on Saturday afternoon at Finnegan Fieldhouse.
Although Wilmington led 21-17 in the opening set, the Barons closed the frame on an 8-0 run to take the opening set 25-21.
The Quakers once again led in the second set, 13-12, before Franciscan rattled off five straight points to take the lead for good. The Barons created further separation late in the set, scoring six of the final seven points en route to a 25-19 win.
For the third consecutive set, Wilmington held a lead during the middle stages of the frame. Leading 16-12, the Quakers yielded a 13-0 run as Franciscan rallied to take the final set 25-16.
