(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – Wilmington College freshman Nolan Hockett was named Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Men's Golfer of the Week following his performance at the Forest Hills Invitational, hosted by Earlham College. It is the first time Hockett has earned the honor in his collegiate career.

Hockett finished tied for fifth individually at 8-over par, highlighted by a 1-over-par second round in which he recorded five birdies. The performance propelled the Springfield, Ohio, native 11 spots up the leaderboard.

His second-round score tied the second-lowest round by a Wilmington golfer this fall, trailing only teammate Cohen Beebe's 1-under-par round at the Stateline Shootout.

Hockett helped Wilmington finish seventh out of 10 teams at the Forest Hills Invitational. His recognition marks the second consecutive OAC Men's Golfer of the Week honor for the Quakers following Beebe's selection the previous week.

Hockett and the Quakers return to action Oct. 3 at the OAC Preview at River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ohio.
