Second-Half Surge Leads Quakers to 3-0 Win Over Lions on Senior Day

(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington Quakers scored three second-half goals en route to a 3-0 victory over the Mount St. Joseph Lions on Homecoming and Senior Day at Williams Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, Andrew Hurley put the Quakers on the board in the 75th minute, scoring off a pass from Logan Kent.

Wilmington continued to control the final 15 minutes of the match. William Jansson curled a shot into the back of the net in the 82nd minute to double the Quakers' lead.

Leading 2-0, the Green and White cemented the victory in the 88th minute when Caleb Redding scored off a pass from Jace Houck.

Wilmington held off the Lions over the remaining minutes to secure the Senior Day shutout.

Notables

  • Fifteen of the Quakers' 18 goals this season have come in the second half. All three first-half goals were scored Sept. 5 in Wilmington's victory over Piedmont.

  • The Quakers amassed 30 shots with 13 on goal, while the Lions tallied nine shots with two on target.

  • William Jansson tallied his fourth goal of the season.

  • Andrew Hurley scored his first goal of the season.

  • Caleb Redding netted his second goal of the season.

  • Jace Houck recorded his second assist of the season, while Logan Kent tallied his first.
